Power Points

God desires that you maintain your spiritual fervency at all times.
You must endeavor to maintain the glow of the Holy Spirit.
Fervency implies intensity, passion, zeal or ardor.
It is God’s plan for your life to be on fire with the Spirit.
Keep the fire of the spirit burning.
Romans 12:11; John 2:13-17; Proverbs 20:27; Revelations 3:15,16

5 Practical ways to maintain the glow of the Spirit

1. Feed your spirit man with the Word to the point of overflow.
This involves setting time apart to meditate, study, confess and listen to the Word.
Joshua 1:8; Matthew 4:4; Colossians 3:16; 2 Timothy 2:15

2. Maintain an atmosphere of praise and worship.
Singing and praising God raises the temperature for the move of God’s Spirit.
Refuse the spirit of heaviness and take up the garment of praise.
Ephesians 5:19; Acts 16:25; Habakkuk 3:17,18; Isaiah 61:1-3

3. Spend quality time praying in the Spirit.
If the initial infilling came by the way of speaking in tongues you can be sure that staying filled will require you to commit to praying in the spirit regularly.
Charge up your spirit like a battery.
1 Corinthians 14:4,14; Jude 1:20.

4. Stay in the love of God at all time.
Don’t ever step out of the boundaries of God’s love.
The realm of the Spirit is the realm of love. Love is the atmosphere of heaven.
1 John 4:8; Jude 1:21

5. Invest in fasting
The act or practice of abstaining from or eating very little food.
Fasting is all about self denial while seeking God’s face.
Fasting increases your spiritual sensitivity because it takes attention off your body and helps you to focus on the spirit. It helps in releasing the anointing.
2 Chronicles 20:3; Isaiah 58:5-6; Matthew 6:16-18; Mark 9:18-29
