PRECEPTS OF EXCELLENCE (PART 5)

(13) KNOW YOURSELF

*God knew every detail of your being but you must endeavor to know what He knows. The more a man discovers himself, the more he is distinct from every other gift. Your relationship with God is the most important key to knowing yourself. Jeremiah 1:4,5; Matthew 10:30

*Don’t celebrate others at your own expense. Your excellence is tied to the recognition and celebration of your purpose. No human has a more important assignment that is superior to your calling. You are special. Psalm 139:14, 1 Peter 2:9

*God made you to be an original and you must not settle for someone else’s clone. For you to reach the top, you must know, understand and express no one else but you. Proverbs 18:16, Proverbs 22:29

Power Points

 Consider yourself a product of great worth. Your Manufacturer happens to be the best around.
 Increase your worth by turning the searchlight on yourself. Your worth appreciates when you know you.
 Get intimate with God in the pursuit of self discovery. No one can reveal you to you than your maker.
 Develop your gifts and potential for strong expression. The real you is you within.
 Stop wasting your time trying to become who you are not. You are born an original; don’t die a copy!

(14) CELEBRATE AUTHORITY

*Authority is a power or right delegated or given. It speaks of the power to enforce laws, exact obedience, command, determine, or judge. There are different kinds of authority that God expects you to submit to. These include civil authority, parental authority, spiritual authority, spousal (husband) authority. Colossians 3:18,20,22

*Submission is the act of yielding to power or authority. It is the surrender of the person and power to the control or government of another. It speaks of conscious obedience and compliance. It literally implies bringing yourself under the mission of another. Isaiah 1:19
*Rebellion is an act or a show of defiance toward an authority or established convention. It is also an organized opposition to authority. It means to deliberately refuse, reject and oppose an established authority. God detests rebellion and it is a fast track to destruction. Isaiah 1:20, Numbers 16

*All authority is from God or permitted by God. You must honor, support and favor the course of those in authority so that you can rise to the top. Romans 13:1, 1 Timothy 2:1,2

*It is a dangerous thing to position oneself against constituted authority. Rebellion is a subtle and contagious spirit that compromises your excellence, run from it. Isaiah 14:12-16, Isaiah 1:20

*Pass the test of submission. When you pass the test of submitting to authority, your own authority is released. Matthew 8:9, 1 Peter 5:5

*Watch out for witchcraft. God is the final authority. There is an abuse of authority when a higher authority contradicts the final authority. Ephesians 6:1

Power Points

 Obey everyone in authority over you because all authority is ordained of God. If you don’t pass the test of submission to authority, your God-ordained authority cannot find expression.
 Treat authority with honor and respect so that you can live a good life. Authority is not designed for your destruction; it’s designed for your lifting.
 Never rebel against authority. Any one rebelling against a God-ordained authority rebels against God Himself.
 Pray for people in authority so that you can live in peace. When authority is empowered to make right decisions, there is peace and prosperity.
 Don’t entertain witchcraft tendencies. Every authority must be in submission to the laws of God, the highest authority.

(15) LIVE BY FAITH

*Faith is not optional. It is the only acceptable way of life where excellence is concerned. Faith is the only way to receive the best of God. Faith is a product of intimacy with God. Habakkuk 2:4, Hebrews 11:6

*Faith is believing, confessing and acting on the Word of God. It is the practical expression of confidence in the ability of God. Faith is also believing the love of God. Romans 10:17, 2 Corinthians 4:13

*The forces set against your excellence in life can only be overcome by faith. Faith will move obstacles out of the way and establish you on the platform of victory. Ephesians 6:12, 1 John 5:1

*The law of faith demands that you speak the Word of God until the desired manifestation of excellence becomes your experience. Use the Word of God to become your dream. Don’t cooperate with the enemy to keep you in mediocrity by speaking contrary words. Mark 11:23, Proverbs 18:21

Power Points

 Make transactions with God by faith. The only currency God recognizes is faith.
 Ward off doubt and fear by holding on to the promises of excellence in the Word. Faith is a shield.
 Develop a strong image from the Bible by spending time with it. Excellence in life is based on one’s image and perspectives.
 Believe, talk, dare, expect, and act on the word of God. A lifestyle of faith will lead to consistent exploits in life.
