PRECEPTS OF EXCELLENCE PART 1

PRECEPT 1: KEEP ON LEARNING
1. Keep on feeding your spirit and soul with relevant information. When you stop learning, you become irrelevant. 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Luke 6:45
2. Stay fresh through the revelation of others. A strong learning culture gives you the opportunity to access the wisdom of elders. Daniel 9:2, Proverbs 1:5
3. Improve yourself formally and informally. The fulfillment of your God given purpose hangs on your level of spiritual and mental information. Hosea 4:6, Romans 12:2

PRECEPT 2 : NEVER DESPISE THE WISDOM OF OTHERS
1. Grow without pains through mentoring. Experience is the present instructor that keeps you from the past mistakes in the future. Exodus 18:13-24
2. Learn from other people’s experience what to do and what not to do. It is better to learn from other people’s experience than one’s own. Proverbs 20:18
3. You need the wisdom of past generations in order to improve upon their achievements. Every generation needs the experience of past generations to prevail. Acts 6:1-3
4. Position yourself for wisdom by finding good counsel. Winning in life is not necessarily a function of your skill and intelligence. Proverbs 11:14
5. Balance passion with experience by paying attention to the wisdom of elders. Wise counsel will protect your destiny. Proverbs 15:22

PRECEPT 3: MAINTAIN A TEACHABLE SPIRIT

1. Don’t allow pride to prevent you from rising to your true potential. A meek and teachable spirit is a major key for a glorious future. James 4:6, Proverbs 16:18
2. Surround yourself with friends and mentors who will tell you the truth to your face. It is a privilege to have access to correction. Proverbs 13:20, Exodus 18:17,18
3. Allow both the rod and staff of God to comfort you. Reproof and correction are a vital part of success ingredients. Psalm 23:4, Proverbs 3:12
4. Do not shut down when you make a mistake; accept the necessary rebuke that may follow. The righteous may fall, but God gives an opportunity for them to rise again. Proverbs 24:16
